This International Women’s Day, the theme is #BreakTheBias – promoting diversity, inclusivity, and celebrating women’s achievements.

Here at Sixty Eight, our team is filled with inspirational ladies. Not only that – we’re also lucky to have TWO brilliant badass women leading the charge in our founder Abi and MD Charlotte.

You could say we know a little about the benefits of a female-led workplace. But, sadly, we know that parts of the industry still have a way to go when it comes to women in leadership.

So, what’s so great about it? We asked Jessie to put forward some words on behalf of the team…

Compassion is a given. There is a genuine culture of caring.

Tenacity is our middle name. Watching two women lead the pack is inspirational. They’ve spent years overcoming conscious and unconscious bias, jumping over extra hurdles and just doing a damn good job. It shows in their resilience. They handle shitty scenarios, that would rock other recruiters, with ease. #BreakingTheBias has made them stronger people, better equipped to handle the twists and turns, and all without losing their kindness.

Ego is a stranger in our house. A guest they never invite into the room. Everything is approached with a collaborative view. It’s only a win if we win together.

You’re always heard. They understand how it feels to be silenced in the room, and they actively amplify our voices – for women and all genders.

They lift us up with them. Sounds like a bit of cheese on the toast – but it’s true. Our experience is our women leaders are committed to shattering the glass ceiling, then building a ladder we all can climb.

Time off is celebrated.

Rest is encouraged.

Burnout is never a badge to be worn with pride.

How does your workplace measure up?

Happy International Women’s Day to all of our women in hospitality, recruitment, and around the world!
